Why is it called an Islamic war?

Maybe I should have used "MIXED OPINION'S" WAR! Abu Sayaf is definitely against Christianity and what it stands for. He literally hates Christians! We know that the MILF has joined forces in Central Mindanao with the Moro bandits as allies. Eventhough the peace loving Muslims don't agree with everything the bandits are doing regarding brutality & torturing of hostages, their armies, however, have joined as allies with the NPA & Moro forces. There is much controversy regarding "WHOSE WAR THIS IS" but when it comes to cooperation, it is this 'allied forces' that seems to act as a whole.

The Moro bandit army of Abu Sayyaf originally took 30 Filipino hostages. This was a mixed group of men, women & children both Muslims & Christian. These hostages were severely tortured. Two were beheaded during the President's birthday as a gift to him. Some escaped and others were killed in crossfires.

The bandists took the hostages as shields against the Philippine Army. Then they took an international group of 21 hostages from Sipadan Island in Malaysia...(edited)

Abu Sayyaf group is definitely "MILKING" the news media for coverage! Very smart on their part tomake money to buy more weapons!

Q: Being an American in Mindanao, how do you cope up when local Maranao Muslims in Cagayan de Oro City approach you?

A: They really aren't approaching me.

Q: Are they friendly and curious about your presence there? When they do, what do they usually inquire?

A: I wouldn't say they are friendly, but they aren't hostile either! Mayor Emano had a meeting them in CDO and they desire be cooperative. The local business people, including taxi drivers, are monitoring any suspicious situations and reporting to the police...(edited)

Q: How would you feel if the local Maranao Muslims in CDO are the ones in need of medical attention?

A: We are more than happy to treat them as we would to anyone else. We don't have "favorites". There are lots of mixed opinions and emotions circulating in Mindanao...(edited)

We are praying for a peaceful solution. We strongly feel that Abu Sayyaf group has committed atrocities to hostages and needs to be dealt with appropriately by our government.

There are some major strongholds hovering over the Philippines: POWER, JEALOUSY, SELFISHNESS, PRIDE & GREED that need to be broken. We covet intercessors to pray and break these spiritual bondages.

We don't have all the answers, but we certainly know the "ONE" who does...Jesus! He is still the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. We are entirely dependent upon Him!
