Subject: What is important when there is a need?

Different facets of R&D (continuation):
From a lecture by Warren Lancaster on R&D.
Any observation, comments, additions or missing points on this?

Previously posted in this forum was the "cycle" of R&D.

1. Emergency Relief
2. Rehabilitation
3. Reconstruction
4. Development
5. Disaster Prevention
6. Disaster Alerting
7. Disaster Preparedness

Please know that a holistic (covering all) R&D covers all spheres of society from government, church, family, business & commerce, education, media, arts & entertainment, technology, economics, etc. and that is what is meant by community development.

Don't take the R&D "cycle" word for word as Relief may not only mean emergency relief. Relief can be the restoration of one's soul or healing of relationship with others (refer to Christine's posting on Biblical View of Development, last month). Relief means easing the pain. It could mean "to give life to" or "to live again" or even "revival". Or, as Tom Wells said, ...

What good does it bring when the Church is revived and growing but the rest around her is replete with poverty, corruption, envy, deceit, sickness and disease, injustice, immorality, pornography, hatred, despair, rebellion, etc.

What good does it bring when you have a huge ministry, but deep inside, there is still so much to repent of. So much to learn of who God is in our lives.
