Subject: [Streams-Online] India's needs - A long list (Report from Marius
& team)
Hi there,
I am Marius, 20, from Sighisoara, Romania, and I just came back from
India on a DTS outreach from Budapest. I am also involved with KK (King's
Kids) in my hometown. KK is a youth ministry. Our team was privileged to
run through a DTS. I praise the Lord for, because I have had this great
opportunity just through Him to write this report. I need to share with
you first that I myself come from a very poor family. I am a gypsy. I
know how hard life is when you grow up in a dysfunctional family. In
India I saw that there are other very poor
people in this world.
Our team was in Bombay, Hydeberg, Baparla, Karnul, Bangalore and Goa for
three months from November 2000 to February 2001. The weather degree was
20 and higher in Goa-30 and the climate was warm except one night in
January it rained in Hyderberg.
The community situation of India's cities and villages are the same:
homeless people, in poverty...and a long list of needs.
In other towns, I have seen a lots of people from kids to adults sleeping
in the streets and normally without food; coming to us to beg for money.
I met one leper in a village near Hydeberg (Hyderabad). I went to see him
with a leader from YWAM base, without knowing about his sickness. He
lives in a tent and when I saw him God ask me to pray for him. I reached
my hand to touch him and he shout "don't touch me, I am a leprous". I
told him that God spoke to me to pray
for him, then he took my hand and put it on his head. God touched him and
he
was very happy to see that God's people love and care for everyone.
In India, the difference between poor and rich is obvious. The economy is
quite bad and the biggest problem is to find a job. Their need is the
same
like ours, God help us! They need to know God and to be released of their
false
gods. They have many! May God challenge us Christians to care more about
these
people. I would like myself to go back there if it is God's will for me
in the future.
God bless you!!!
